Elizabeth Olympic Park. Shoreditch for products — the King of Hoxton
includes a roof terrace upstairs and music downstairs, and Cargo and
clubs XOYO are nearby if you want to hit the dancefloor.
San FranciscoStart
the afternoon catching coffee in one of many tempting roasteries, then
capture the first ferry to Alcatraz. For lunch, struck one of the local
food sellers at the Ferry Building (AKA foodie’s haven), then climb up
the Filbert Steps — seeing the wild birds overhead — to Coit Tower.
Stunning landscapes and the WPA paintings provide a look of SF’s past
and present.
Take your time walking back through Chinatown and
North Beach to Promote Street and jump to the Quest on the BART, to
spend the others of the morning having a couple of cups of that tasty
California wine and eating good food.
Begin the morning at the
Ferry Building and run, rollerskate or walk with waffle at hand Over The
Embarcadero to Fisherman’s Wharf. Try tomato soup and the sourdough
bread from Boudin Bakery for lunch. Head over for that afternoon, both
of which have beautiful views of the Golden Gate to Baker Beach or
Crissy Field.
View the sun with a margarita on a roof like El
Techo de Lolinda’s (eltechosf.com) inside the Objective, then catch a
standup comedy show in The Punchline before strolling through North
Beach and visiting San Francisco’s iconic City Lights bookstore, open
until midnight.
After luncheon at Zazie’s (zaziesf.com) around
the deck, walk across the street to the Haight Ashbury community, where
throwback vintage finds and record shops mingle with modern retailers.
Inside the afternoon, visit Golden Gate Park, an enormous expanse of
green which includes an unexpected paddock of buffalo, a Japanese Tea
Garden and museums.
At Burma Superstar, venture north to dine on
unreal Southeast Asian fare later in the day before ending the night in
the Plough and the Personalities — an Irish pub that serves up Guinness,
Irish set dancing & bluegrass music.
Breakfast at Mama’s in
Washington Square then retain a bicycle to pattern along the coast and
within the Golden Gate Bridge (element in sufficient time for photo
stops). Before using the ferry back to SF grab a treat in Sausalito.
Lunch
with its array of food outlets at the Ferry Building, then look around
Union Square before getting for a hold-on on a cable car -tight rise up
the SF hills. Jump off at Ghiradelli Square to get some candy to fortify
you to your night tour of Alcatraz. Finally, chow down at B & Z,
perhaps in Chinatown, and finish the night using the late performance of
satirical show,
